Honiara
SkyAirWorld flights arrive and depart from Henderson Airport on the island of Guadalcanal, the main port of entry into the Solomon Islands.
Situated approximately 15 minutes drive from the airport is the capital, Honiara. The town is on the northern coastline and incorporates a small picturesque sea port at Point Cruz.

Transport
In Honiara and bigger provincial centres like Auki (Malaita) and Gizo (Western) public buses and taxi services are readily available for use. There are a number of radio-controlled taxi services some of which operates on a 24-hour basis. In all provinces, outboard motor canoes are the most common form of transport.
Arrival/departure information
American, British, Commonwealth and EEC visitors may obtain a visitor's permit on arrival for a period of 30 days (extensions may be issued). No fees apply.

Visitors require immunisation if originating or having passed through disease-infected or epidemic countries. Malaria medication is recommended.
Duty free limits are 200 cigarettes or 250 grams of tobacco, two litres of spirits or equivalent, also other dutiable goods that do not exceed SI$500.00
Departure tax - SI$40.00.

Currency
The Solomon Island Dollar. Denominations are in $50, $20, $10, $5 and $2 notes, and $1, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 cent coins.
